Text Pot Final Update - 10/30/20
Here's my first finished project! The cause I chose to support for this text pot project was going against animal abuse. My two pets, a dog and a betta fish, are both rescues, so it's pretty important to me. I wrapped words around the sides such as carnival prizes, fish bowls, mills, and dog fighting as examples, and the bowl itself is fishbowl themed. Overall, I'm really happy with it! |
Discover Your Path Project - 1/12/21
Here it is, finally finished! This project was hard, but I love how it turned out. My original plan was for the three bowls to be able to stack together, and they still can, but it would be in a pretty weird way. I had to replace one of my small bowls at the last minute with a backup bowl I'd already thrown, which is why the two small ones are almost the same size. The big one got dented on the side too! I'm not sure how it happened - it was just like that when I got to it one morning (I think someone might have accidentally bumped it, since I left it right by the cubby opening). Other than those two accidents, everything went super smoothly. The glaze turned out just how I had imagined it - different shades of blue - and throwing/trimming were super fun. All in all, I'm super happy with it all! |
Dish for a Dish Project - 1/12/21
I had the vision of creating a pizza shaped plate! Also, I'd have to buy a pizza to model it, which is always a plus. I made grooves with my finger to add some texture, since it seemed a little plain, and I chose green-blue glaze to make the yellow and red of a pizza slice really pop. And whew, this one was hard. I made two at first (so that they fit together), and I loved them... but I broke them when I brought them in to fire. |
I proceeded to make the same mistake again, with yet another. Finally, I just decided to make one in the studio one day, and that's the one that ended up making it to the end! Despite the casualties, I had a really fun time making this, and I can't wait to try it out.
